We had a great time on a boat trip with Jorge and Xavier. They were the best about captains and crew. We could’ve asked for the Boat was really good! It was my birthday and it was spent in the most awesome setting with the most friendly crew I could have asked for .. definitely do the sunset sailboat cruise
Loved this place, interior was very modern and seemed new but is actually 3 yrs old. Shower was good too. Did a lagoon tour for 3 hrs with Javier and Jorge from here which was relaxing, calm and hilarious too, loved it.
We had a brilliant Sailing trip with Jorge at AmarBacalar! We booked the group tour and had the boat to ourselves. Jorge is a very nice guy to spend the day with, he took us to spots away from other tourists and raced with another boat sailing across the lagoon which was fun. Other boats weren’t half as nice. It was relaxing and lovely. We weren’t hugely impressed with the accommodation at AmarBacalar but 5 stars for the sailing trip
Amazing boat tour with Jorge and Javier, it felt more like being out with a group of friends than an organised tour. They took us to nice quiet stops away from all the other boats. We booked the group tour but had it to ourselves!
We had a fantastic sailing trip with AmarBacalar today! Excellent value for money and a wonderfully relaxed atmosphere on board, thanks to the highly skilled skipper Sebastião and the chilled music playlist curated by Kia. We enjoyed two lovely swimming stops in the lagoon, with no time pressure at all. The fruit plate was delicious! Pickup and drop-off at our hotel were perfectly organized and very convenient. 6 out of 5 stars for the entire team — muchas gracias!
Unforgettable Sailing Tour in Bacalar with Jorge Our recent sailing tour in Bacalar with Jorge was an extraordinary experience. From the moment we boarded, Jorge’s warm hospitality and deep knowledge of the area made us feel at ease and excited for the journey ahead. Jorge guided us through the mesmerizing Bacalar Lagoon, often referred to as the “Lagoon of Seven Colors” due to its stunning spectrum of blue hues. He navigated us to secluded spots, including hidden cenotes and mangrove-lined channels, that showcased the lagoon’s natural beauty. His insights into the local ecosystem, history, and the unique stromatolites—ancient microorganisms found in the lagoon—added a rich educational layer to our adventure. The tranquility of sailing on the lagoon, combined with Jorge’s engaging storytelling, made this tour a highlight of our trip. For anyone seeking to explore Bacalar’s breathtaking landscapes and learn from a passionate and knowledgeable guide, we wholeheartedly recommend this sailing tour with Jorge. Highly recommended!
Everything was amazing! The place is beautiful! The staff is incredibly friendly, professional and helpful. From Kia and Fatima at reception that manages everything, all the way to the boat cruises they organised with Aranza and Michelle was really great experience! These ladies manages the boat effortlessly and made the outing a family friendly outing!
We stayed at Amar Bacalar for 2 nights, we accidentally booked for 2 rather than 3 and the staff were extremely accommodating. They arranged an extra mattress for us for no extra charge. The room itself was lovely. The location is right opposite the lagoon which is amazing. We were recommended a sailing tour by the Hotel which we agreed to and we were truly blown away. We booked a normal tour and ended up having a private sailing tour delivered by Jorge and Javi. Jorge and Javi are two really chilled blokes and not like your typical tour guides, the day really felt like we were just out on the lagoon with a group of friends! We were shown all the cenotes and other beautiful aspects of the lake and we were taken to more secluded areas for swimming! If you do one thing in Bacalar make sure it’s booking a tour with Jorge and Javi through Amar Bacalar. I’ve been travelling for 8 months and it’s safe to say this was my favourite tour of the trip.
